COMPLETED HOMES

Although just minutes from restaurants and shops, this home enjoys rare privacy; occupying its’ own slice of the mountain with views as far as the eye can see. After entering a gate at the base of a mountain, winding up the hill, coming to a second gate and winding down the 450’ driveway (which we carefully carved out of the mountainside), this magnificent estate comes into sight! Every room has incredible views, whether they are of the city or of the mountain itself. In order to accommodate the footprint of this home, we had to build out and extend the mountain and some walls on the back of the home are just inches from the mountain. Only the most skilled trades could have successfully pulled off a project with the complexities that were encountered on this project. With approximately 12,000 square feet under roof, an elevator, gym, gourmet kitchen, surround sound throughout, 2nd owner’s suite, office, and 5 car garage ( just to name a few of its’ features) this home is a pretty great place to do life!

Old World craftsmanship captures the rich heritage of an Arizona family. This masterpiece was constructed with the finest quality finishes and unsurpassed craftsmanship and detail. This Estate sits on the owner’s original 160 acres of farmland and was designed to take advantage of gorgeous mountain views. There were no utilities and there wasn’t even an address when we started this 2 year process. This estate is traditional but the technology is cutting edge. One of the most dramatic features in this home is the 20’ barrel arched brick hallway ceiling with a circular brick dome in the center. The craftsmen worked 2 ½ months laying up the half bricks from two-story scaffolding. There are beautiful clerestory windows that are electronically operated to provide air circulation and natural light. Many green, sustainable features were employed; such as, artificial turf, specially constructed wood burning fireplaces and separate Black and Grey water lines. Grey lines feed into the pump tank, along with water collected from the roof drains and scuppers and are then used to irrigate the plants. The reclaimed wood flooring dates back to 1879 and was brought in from an old barn in Tennessee.

Magnificent panaroamic views of the city are enjoyed from this soft contemporary, private mountainside estate. This fabulous estate sits on the side of the mountain at the end of a long, gently sloping private driveway. The site required extensive earthwork, as we actually had to fill in a saddle in the lot and create the 500’ long driveway. The luxurious but casual interior enjoys breathtaking views from every room. Several Native boulders were chosen from the property and integrated into the home. One of the boulders actually sits both inside and outside with glass cut precisely to fit snuggly around it. The dramatic spoke dome ceiling in the entry spills natural light into the home that changes throughout the day . The gorgeous quartz floors and ledgestone came in huge pieces out of a boutique quarry in Utah. The stone was then cut on site. The interior walls were finished with venetian plaster. Care was given to preserve and re-install native plant life. The outer wall of the negative edge pool literally falls off the side of the mountain. This home enjoys a theater, wine cellar, dark room and self contained casita.

360 degree views were carefully planned for in the design of this magnificent estate with over 13,550 sq. feet under roof. The lot envelope was carefully carved out of the mountainside to preserve the native boulders and landscaping. Complex and extensive earthwork was required to accommodate 10 elevation changes/levels throughout the home. These levels were a result of fitting the home to the lot in order to minimize the impact on the natural beauty of the site. Also, access had to be created to the envelope. A 100’ boom concrete pump truck was required to pump over 450 cubic yards of concrete, just in retaining walls. Some of the features include a negative edge pool and swim up wet-bar, multiple outdoor patios and balconies, custom marble tile mosaics & inlays, custom wood beam trusses and custom groin ceilings throughout.

The owners of this distinctive contemporary Santa Fe estate wanted to add a casita for their parents. The goals were that it needed to look as if it had always been there and that it needed to provide privacy to it’s occupants, as well as the main house. Kevin worked with the original architect, David Arambula of Phoenix Design Group, to come up with a plan and layout that turned out beautifully! The casita feels like a seamless extension of the main house.

The meticulous craftsmanship of the Alexander’s team is apparent throughout the project; from the custom designed gates to the Mt. Moriah quartzite, which was harvested from the Snake Mountain range in Utah.

We built this home early on in our home building career in Northeast Mesa. We started out doing a remodel for these clients in Ahwatukee, then built their new custom home and then added a guest house several years later.

This was built as a spec on a lot we owned in a gated, lake front community. The lot was small so it was a challenge to design something with enough square footage. With the help of a talented architect, we designed and built a two story that maximized the views from every room. The charming lakefront garden patio had a cut out skylight that brought additional sunlight into the public areas.
